EXITING MOROCCO

Proceedings are easier when exiting Morocco. You will have to complete the passport control card, which in this case is yellow, and hand it at the passport control. The customs agent will seal your exit on your passport. 

The first hydrofoil of the day departs Tangier city port at 0900, the FRS ticket office on Avenue Mohammed V1 opens at 0800, the ticket price in May this year was 400 dirhams, make sure the agent fills in your yellow exit form, you will need this at the police booth at the ferry terminal, exit the FRS office turn right and walk down to the terminal building, on your left at the foot of the access ramp are two Portacabins, one of which is the FRS office where you show your ticket and will be issued with the all-important boarding pass.

Climb up the ramp to the terminal building and pass through the police booth, presenting your passport and yellow exit form, your passport will be stamped and the yellow form retained, now enter the departure lounge and sling your luggage onto the rollers of the big scanner machine, pushing them through and collecting at the other side (provided no 'naughties' have been identified haha!)

Take a seat in the lounge and wait until all passengers are called to board the ferry, your ferry ticket and boarding pass will be checked again before access to the vessel is permitted

I made this journey in May this year, from the FRS office it took me twenty minutes to walk to the ferry terminal, and another five minutes to collect the boarding pass and clear the police check, so this gave plenty of time. As usual the ferry departed twenty minutes late, it seemed to have waited for stragglers.

When arriving in Tarife the passport control is done onshore just as you exit the Ferry.
